Georgetown University Information Services survived a perfect storm of institutional evolution, office turmoil and a pandemic by implementing a portfolio management approach to ensuring that IT projects align with institutional priorities. In the face of declining IT investment budgets, constrained personnel resources, Georgetown worked with Gartner to develop its portfolio management process through an agile scrum process. This presentation looks at the lessons learned from Gartner, how the PPM process was developed and looks at the unexpected benefit in improved office culture that the PPM process reaped during the pandemic.
