Sponsor Track B: Empowering Higher Education with Cloud Data Management
Empowering Higher Education with Cloud Data Management,  Michael Anderson, Chief Strategist, Public Sector,  Data is the new currency of the higher education community. Institutions are leveraging this currency to deliver new strategic insights, optimize operations, and stay competitive in a demanding market for students, faculty, administrators, and grant awards. With the growing, ever-changing number of data sources across on-premises and cloud, the manual, complex, and siloed approaches to integrating data can hold universities back from leading the field.  Universities need a better, faster, more reliable way to integrate and deliver timely data and analytics to the different schools on campus. Whether you’re already delivering cloud analytics—or planning to build a cloud data warehouse —a high-performance, easy-to-use data integration solution is essential. The solution needs to allow you to connect to on-premises data sources and cloud applications to seamlessly integrate high volumes of data and get you up and running quickly.  In this presentation, you will learn how to leverage data to:
  • Attract the best students
  • Ensure student retention
  • Accelerate fundraising campaigns
  • Increase operational efficiency
  • Reduce data management costs

Sponsor Track A: Cura Personalis: Digital Approaches to Holistic Student Care
During COVID-19, Georgetown University leveraged Salesforce’s Health Cloud platform to rapidly roll-out a host of supports for students, staff, and faculty, from contact tracing to vaccine management. Beyond the immediate crisis, the platform has generated competencies that pave the way for a long-term holistic approach to student care through digital collaboration.

The result is the ability to live out the Georgetown core value of cura personalis - caring for the whole person - in new ways. Using Health Cloud, they were able to rally around the unique needs of students, faculty, staff and contractors by providing high-quality wrap-around services.

For Georgetown, this digitized collaboration has opened new doors to address long-term pain points for student services:  How do we enable collaboration across campus?  Where are opportunities to automate student support? Can we digitize the experience using a branded app?  Can we engage third-party contractors in a holistic approach to student care?  Moving from disconnected providers, to a coordinated effort, the project acted as an accelerator to bring together people and technology across the University to better serve the community during an unprecedented time of need.

Drawing on additional research across the US and Canada, we highlight three ways that digital technology can support rapid collaboration between stakeholders: reconfiguration of existing technologies for new uses; leveraging virtual collaboration; and the power of analytics.

Sponsor Track B: No-Code: How UC San Diego Empowered Transformation with Campus-wide Citizen Development
Join Vince Kellen, CIO of UC San Diego, as he shares both his vision for and the true impact no-code enabled citizen development has had across the UCSD campus.

UC San Diego has been on a continuous digital transformation journey; years prior, Vince Kellen identified the opportunity in empowering non-technical users across campus to optimize business processes and invest saved time into value-add activities. In the fall of 2020, this vision was brought full force when the university's Research department was brought to an immediate halt with COVID safety protocols. The IT team had to innovate rapidly to bring motion back to the campus or risk continuously losing progress. With dozens of potential tools at their disposal, the team chose recently implemented no-code platform, Kuali Build. With the ability to iterate rapidly and empower non-technical users across campus to quickly create automated processes, the team released a return to research process that enabled motion to return to campus.

Vince Kellen and Joel Dehlin, CEO of Kuali, will share: - Critical steps to embed citizen development initiatives into your 5-year strategic IT plan - The 'sweet spot' not being met by the no-code tools in your current technology portfolio - How UC San Diego leverages Kuali Build to empower non-technical users across campus

Sponsor Track A: Connecting Data Across Systems in Higher Education
When commercial products, backed by billions of data points, offer sophisticated recommendations and provide convenient mobile and desktop access, how can university IT teams provide services to meet user expectations? How can universities provide similar experiences on a smaller scale?

By uniting data across university systems using single, documented structure, Georgetown University was positioned to serve students quickly when COVID-19 arrived. This session will focus on how that structure was developed, how tools like Salesforce and Mulesoft helped us achieve that structure, and how it proved useful in the first weeks of the pandemic.
